my blog's stats
many people have asked, so here are the stats for my blog. you'll notice the huge spike around feburary 9th; i attribute that to news.com and slashdot. the little traffic bump in january was when i had originally unpublished and republished my blog entries. at the time, i was amazed at getting a few thousand hits - little did i know a few weeks later, i would be getting 100k hits.
surprisingly, i had to go to a third party site, statcounter, to get web metrics; blogger doesn't have any sort of functionality built-in. i had to take a supplied snippet of code and put it my blogger template manually. while this is not a problem for tech savvy users, i'd imagine average users might get frustrated while trying to add a simple counter to her blog.
also, blogger only has built-in support for atom feeds and doesn't give you stats on that either.
i want stats for my blog! i hope the blogger team is reading :)
btw, i'm posting this entry from flickr (and they are hosting the graphic above too). i'd heard a lot of great things about flickr and so far, i've been impressed. cool stuff, props to ludicorp!

Has anybody compared Flickr to Picasa 2? I am Picasa 2 lover, and am curious what the differences are?
I also have the same combo - Blogger and I use StatCounter. To get statistics on your feeds, you may want to consider using Feedburner to generate the XML from Blogger's Atom XML. You can advertise the standard RSS from Feedburner and then Feedburner keeps a tab (as best as it can, I guess) on your syndications.

Just being bit paranoid, but some mathematically gifted (1+1/x) people could estimate some AdSense figures by putting together the traffic, the time you have ran AdSense and the just reached payout level.
Google has good brand but they also have to be tough on some aspects, this might be something to make people amazed, but it is hard to make money otherwise. Brand - reality. When do we see freedom movements going against Google for limiting freedom of search or information?
I wonder how long those heavy terms in user agreement will hold. We should not encourage people to click the ads. When comes the time that charity sites cannot have AdSense, because people already know that by clicking the ads they generate money for the cause. Will there be some artificial levels for max payouts?

Sitemeter will automatically add it's counter to your blog. Kinda neat for anyone who does not want to get their hands dirty editing templates.
